Lost Partition after "Safe" conversion GPT to MBR
I used a program called MiniTool to convert my 750gb HDD from GPT to MBR in process of getting it ready for a NAS. I read online people having no issues, and saw no warning that it would erase any data. The conversion only took a few seconds, so I know the data is still there, buried in this now RAW/Unknown partition that used to be NTFS. I have not applied any changes or wrote anything fresh to this drive since it happened, though I did assign it a drive letter from Windows Disk Management, but DID NOT format it when it asked me to. Data recovery steps taken so far include attempting to mount it from linux (did not appear in the list), and scanning it with TestDisk, which found the partition but could not read it, stating filesystem may be damaged. Is there any hope of recovering this data?

Can you see the partitions with the Minitool Partition Wizard CD? It is possible to copy a whole partition to another HDD. Did you try reading the disk using a Live CD like Knoppix or a similar one? The Knoppix CD/DVD carries Gnu ddrescue, and you could clone your HDD with it. After that, you can work (run TestDisk) on the clone. If in Windows, the system would in theory assign the drive letters automatically. If you like the HDDs listed in a particular order, try altering the way your HDDs are connected.
