Windows 8 - GPT or Intel

#1 Post by bobkardell »

I had tried to install Ubuntu alongside Windows. The orginal structure of the partition table was GPT / 64 bit / Secureboot. Something went wrong during the install and Ubuntu overwrote the partitions with standard (it appears) Intel partitions.

So my question is - if I use Testdisk, do I try to search for the original GPT partitions? Or, do I use the Intel partitions and search for what remains of the previous partitions?

I have started this in GPT but it doesn't seem to find the other partitions - will a Deep Scan find the former GPT partitions?

Any help is appreciated,

Bob
