Photorec: No prompt to only search unallocated space

#1 Post by beninaus »

Hi, trying to recover an accidentally deleted word document. When going through the prompts before the photorec scan begins, I get skipped from "file system type" straight to "where should recovered files be written". I really want to be able to recover only deleted files since the scan is taking forever without this option. Hope someone knows how I can bring up this menu option.

This option is available for FAT12/16/32, NTFS, exFAT, ext2/3/4 filesystem.
If you are using another filesystem or the filesystem is too corrupted for the filesystem type to be identified, this prompt will be skipped.
