Bad relative sector?

Hello all,

I really need help. I was using my husband's WD 500 GB external hard drive and it was working fine, next morning it just went RAW and windows wouldn't recognize it and asks to format it. Funny enough though it works perfectly fine on my TV, I can access all files and media perfectly! I stumbled upon Test Disk and decided to give it a try, I got the error :The harddisk (500 GB / 465 GiB) seems too small! (< 2736 GB / 2548 GiB). I don't really understand what's wrong , I spent the past 6 hours searching forums but then again I've been awake for the past 48 hours and my brain is mushy..I would appreciate any help greatly.
