PhotoRec 1st time user.

#1 Post by munich55 »

I stupidly deleted a lot of important photos yesterday and after trying out different software, I finally came across PhotoRec.

My external hard drive is 74GB, the software has been running for about 5 hours and has found 839 files. It now seems to have stopped at that number but still searching. I have thousands of photos and also my itunes library on the drive. Does the 45hrs estimated time seem about right or is there a problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like it's very slow in your case but your post contains almost no information: we don't know the filesystem type of the source, we don't know if you have check the recycle bin where deleted files may have been moved, we don't know if error messages are reported by photorec...
