Recovering from TrueCrypt volume

#1 Post by HaywoodJablomie »

The instructions say this:

To repair a filesystem not listed by TestDisk, run testdisk device, i.e.
testdisk /dev/mapper/truecrypt0 or testdisk /dev/loop0 to repair the NTFS or FAT32 boot sector files from a TrueCrypt partition.

I have no idea HOW to "run" that. I've tried running it with a command prompt with no luck. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Where did you get this information from?
As long as I can remember we have had some support in an old version of true crypt.
Do I miss something?
But I assume, in the meantime it's obsolet, since truecrypt was building in a header recovery from its backup at the end of the volume.
