Recover deleted files from HFS+ disk

#1 Post by plasticpool »

I am attempting to recover a group of deleted .mov files from an internal HFS+ striped RAID (two 3 TB drives). Since Photorec cannot currently search the free space only, I'm wondering if there is any way to tell which of the recovered files was deleted and which were not, since the number of files on the disk is quite large.

By the way, I would be happy to chip in towards a bounty on adding this feature (find only deleted files on HFS+)!

Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's now over two years, and the answer was given a year ago...
Anyway if you still need to recover those files, you may take a shot at the method given here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4860
And a Live Linux containing PhotoRec & xmount: http://www.caine-live.net/
