Can PhotoRec recover Truecrypt volumes?

#1 Post by nobootabledevice »

From what I have read, they don't have signatures. Is there no way to recover one of these from a damaged hard drive?

Nope, testdisk and photorec cannot retrieve data from an encrypted partition or disk.
Did you already try to recover your backup of your volume header?
There is a tool available called testcrypt, which can make truecrypt volumes recoverable.
In case, contact the author?
