Windows installation has left orphaned truecrypt partition

#1 Post by Clueless »

Hi folks,

Major blunder:

1. Existing Windows 7 Home Premium installation had two partitions, C: and D: (for data).
2. Truecrypt whole disk encryption in place.
3. In order to be able to join a Windows domain, I installed Windows 7 Enterprise in C:.
4. What was D: now appears as 'Unallocated Space'.
5. I have no Truecrypt rescue disk for this system.

Yes, I know I'm stupid.

Is there any way to recover what was D:?

Many thanks for your prompt reply, Vissel. I am running the analysis now. However, as the unallocated space is what was an encrypted partition, how does Testdisk discover anything in it?
