Hard Drive Converted to RAW Format

#1 Post by xunlistedx »

I have a external hard drive that recently converted on its own to RAW format. I am assuming from a power outage and there has been no physical damage.

I have run the analyze option form Testdisk and from the quick search 1 (one) NTFS partition shows up.

When I use the option to write the partition it then asks to reboot which I have done but it still is coming up unreadable. And yes, I am using it in Administrator Mode.

However, when I try to search and display the files on the disk it says "Can't open filesystem. Filesystem seems damaged."

I'm not sure what to do next and want to avoid doing more harm than good.

I would like to copy the contents of the disk to another drive but unsure how to do that as well.

I'm also not sure how to locate the log file to display in a readable format.

Please advise.

Thanks!
