Using undeleted system restore image files

#1 Post by c0mputerking »

Hello again all got a virus which erased some important files that i have not yet been able to recover using testdisk or photorec versions 7.01 ... The virus also deleted the system restore files which i am pretty sure the files i need are contained inside the Vista images.

However I believe that testdisk undeleted some Windows Vista System restore image files see screenshot

I was wondering if it is possible to look inside or mount these files somehow? i have goggled around and found the program "system restore explorer" but as these are recovered files system restore explorer does not work in this case.

I also came across mklink but cannot figure out how to make it work with just the raw file

Again does anyone know how to use these files?
