USB stick lost partition information

#1 Post by Recova »

Hello all,

I am trying to recover files from a USB stick which shows up as empty in Windows and Linux file manager.

If I use Testdisk, I am able to see the partitions but it mentions errors with the partition information.

I have tried deleting the partition table and re-writing it using Testdisk.

I can recover the files on the disk using Photorec however, they are all f numbers.

Is there a way to restore the disk so that the files can be viewed normally with the original filenames?

Thanks.

PhotoRec can't recover the original filenames.
When using TestDisk, try to list the files from each partition. Use 'c' to copy them.
