Hi
I have a problem with my Buffalo model CE500us drive. It is showing up as raw, cannot access it with Windows.

I ran testdisk Intel, analize and this is what it showed.

Can you repeat your diagnose and select your disk instead of a drive?
Run Analyse, Quick Search and if nothing would be found, Deeper Search also.
If partitions are found, please mark them and press p to have a try to list your files.
Can you copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log into your next post?
You'll find it within your testdisk folder.

Hi fiona
Thank you for the reply, I don't see where I would select the "disk" instead of the drive.
When I open testdisk it.just shows the drives listed.

Sorry missed the disk selection at the top.

This is what shows after doing the analize. Which partition do you want me to select.

Looks like your file system is slightly damaged!
Results
L HPFS - NTFS 1 1 1 60800 254 63 976751937
NTFS, blocksize=4096, 500 GB / 465 GiB
NTFS filesystem need to be repaired.
I'd suggest to copy/backup important files first running testdisk.
If you list your files, at the bottom of the testdisk display, you'll find all the commands.
Standard path is the testdisk folder.
If you'd like to select another disk or partition, you can check that 2 dots in the upper area of the testdisk display and press enter.
Each time you'll get one directory up until you get to your disk selection.
If you'd like to copy your data to another folder, you can create a folder in advance and in testdisk easily mark it and use the right arrow key on your keyboard to enter it as your target.

If you'd like to repair your file system, you should open a command prompt with administrator privileges and running:
chkdsk driveletter: /r
As far as I've seen, the driveletter of your affected partition is F: !

Hi Fiona chkdsk doesn't work for me get message "unable to determine volume version and state".
As for copying to another disk, I can't see at the top the 2 dots you are referring to.

Please advise.

Thanks
