W8.1 wont boot, partition messed up

#1 Post by samstown »

Hello,

I am trying to help my father who had a electrical power down while he was running a MS update on his work Laptop, since then the PC won't boot... It shows "The boot configuration data for your PC is missing". First I've tried to repaird with MS recovery DVD but it doesn't help. I 've burned a Ultimate Boot CD and I am running test disk from there. I can see a lot of information, I've read the forums and step by step but so far I didn't fix it. I am not familiar with HDD technologie, if I am missing something easy, let me know.
