14TB ext4 damaged filesystem...how does TD mount it?

#1 Post by SHaran »

Hello, I am trying to recover data from a damaged ext4 filesystem. Using TestDisk I am able to see the folder structure and filenames and I can recover some data. I can also see data using debugfs -c (catastrophic mode). But I can not mount the filesystem in the normal way.

My question is how is TestDisk able to mount the filesystem internally? Is there some mount option used by TestDisk?
