Can you please tell me how to add a custom file format of .imm & .imh files. I need to recovery those file formats for the email program that I'm using :( . I have looked at 'Add your own extension to PhotoRec' :? http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Add_your ... o_PhotoRec but I can't get them to add.

.imm files should already be recovered by PhotoRec, often as .mbox files. They are part of the "tx?" file family.
Rename the .mbox file as .imm if necessary. imh files will be regenerated from .imm files by Incredimail / your mail program.
