Drive unreadable please help a novice

#1 Post by Mike01 »

Hi I know that similar problems have been posted numerous times but hope someone will help me.
I have 2 near identical Seagate 3tb drives as storage.
I unexpectedly lost power now I cant access one of my drives, the one containing all my family photos vids .
I have tried to use testdisk myself but I'm going round in circles as I'm not really sure what I should be doing.
symptoms.
in computer management the drive now shows up as raw.

I have run chkdsk this is what I got:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /f e:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Volume label is Tools Programs+MyDocuments.
Corrupt master file table. Windows will attempt to recover
master file table from disk.
Windows cannot recover master file table. CHKDSK aborted.

When I open testdisk this is the first window

As I said the problem disk is drive E which is physical drive 1, this is my first problem I'm not sure if I should select physical drive 1, or drive E to proceed. or what I should be doing next? My gandaughters photos are very precious to me so any help would be most appreciated.

selected physical drive 1, proceed, testdisk selected EFI GPT as partition type obviously this is wrong so I selected intel-enter, advanced enter and I'm shown this:

ok new day new start.
First as I said last night I managed to accidentally create a new partition on the drive of 746.39 gb of unallocated space.
After reading a couple of old threads I have removed my D drive leaving only C and the problem E drives, easily distinguishable.
I will run testdisk to analyse then post the new logfile in the hope someone might help me. this time I wont try to grow a brain and do things myself testdisk is to complicated for me :)
Selected physicaldrive1 whitch is the E drive,
again testdisk thinks it is EFI GPT partition type, which I changed to Intel, confirm Analyse here is the results and logfile:

I see the Size in sectors is wrong it should be 5860528065?
I confirmed P list files and got the message Cant open filesystem. Filesystem seems damaged.
Lacking any help i have started fallowing the tutorial "Testdisk step by step".
so I have now selected and confirmed "Deeper Search", Awaiting results. and advice please.
