hello,
i need to recover a 3 TB Sata 3 HDD and after several weeks of deeper search with testdisk 7.0 (Windows 10) it finely finished succesfully, listing all directories and files. but when trying to recover a single directory to another physical HDD, copying failed and whats more worse, search results vanished.
Before i rescan with testdisk, i need to be sure if it´s possible save search results and how to use it.

Re: Save search results?
When testdisk starts, it asks you if you want to create a log file. This file records the partition location. It can be used to manually add a partition, this way, no need to wait for quick search or deeper search to finish.
