samsung external hd 500gb error

hi, I have external hd samsung 500gb which became raw, I tried to fix it with testdisk, but it didn't recognize it, entered chd and now it says can't read fat boot sector. how do i fix that and get it working again?

Run Testdisk, Advanced, Boot, RebuildBS, List.
If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit and restart your computer.

I had the exact the same problem with a samsung external 500GB. If when you try to list your files you get the "Damage filesysem" error, I think it will very unlikely that you will be able to get your data using testdisk. You can use photorec but that doesn't keep file structure. How I solved mine was by using Zero Assumptions Recovery, that kept my files and structures 100%. Good luck!
