Hello,
Not sure which section my problem falls into here but...
I recently plugged my external 1TB WD Ultra passport HD into a panasonic TV. The TV seems to have partitioned and formatted my HD. I can no longer get to the contents of my HD but believe its still there.
My drive was formatted for a mac. I did however try to place to a PC which didnt work either.
I simply want to access the drive so I can copy some files before I format it...
Can testdisk help me do that? if so how do I do it?
Would I use photorec? Not sure because I don't think the files were deleted...Please help.

Re: TV formatted my drive and partitioned my HD
If your disk was formated for a Mac, it probably was using HFS+ filesystem.
You can use testdisk to search this partition (testdisk, Analyse, Quick Search...), read https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step for more details
If it doesn't work or if your partition is unreadable, you can use PhotoRec https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_Step_By_Step
