I'm a new user on Mac OS 10.11.6. When I double-click the photorec application, I get this message: "photorec" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." I've tried both versions 7.0 and 7.1.
Am I doing something wrong?

Check that
- you have extracted all the files (do not use a compressed folder).
- you are using the TestDisk for Mac OS X on Intel processor

I am also using 10.11.6. I downloaded Photorec from the Mac OSX Intel link:
https://www.cgsecurity.org/Download_and ... el.tar.bz2
However, when I double click either testdisk or photorec, I get the same message as delsimcox.
Thanks!

Re: photorec is damaged and can't be opened
aurige, do you have the same problem with testdisk 7.0 and 7.1-WIP ?
In a terminal, please run "ldd ./photorec". What is the output ?

Re: photorec is damaged and can't be opened
with 7.0
-bash: ldd: command not found ^^
mais ... Aurige$ otool -L ./photorec
./photorec:
/usr/lib/libncurses.5.dylib (compatibility version 5.0.0, current version 5.0.0)
/usr/lib/libz.1.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.2.2)
/usr/lib/libmx.A.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 93.0.0)
/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 88.0.0)
voilà
I have the same error message with testdisk 7.0 and 7.1-WIP
could it come from the rights for downloaded apps in the General pane of Security & Privacy preferences ? (that I manually force when prompted to) ?

Re: photorec is damaged and can't be opened
I have the same error if just click the file "photorec" using the "Finder".
To open the file properly, you have to run the file from the "Terminal". I.e. start the terminal, use command line to navigate to the folder where you have unzip the files, and then run photorec using "./photorec" .
