Deleted a whole partition of data, need some guidance

#1 Post by spabs »

To avoid the unnecessary details and get straight to the point: I accidentally deleted a whole ~600gb partition full of useful data while in Disk Manager on Windows 10. I'm really just looking for some guidance on how to undelete this. I haven't written anything at all on the drive that contains the partition (it is now a slave drive). I've tried running TestDisk and rewriting the partition table but I didn't have much success with that. I tried running PhotoRec, but two things: 1) It wanted to recover EVERY FILE on the 1tb disk (rather than just the 600gb partition) and 2) there was no folder organization/metadata intact.

Can you guys help guide me to the correct resources or through the process of undeleting my partition? I'm bummed to find out that Windows doesn't have any way of undoing this itself.

To recover your partition, use TestDisk. Try to follow https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step
If you have problems, post the testdisk.log file content.

I've gone through this process before and the closest thing I could find to my partition was something in the 515gb range. So I tried rebuilding it, got an error about the Filesystem being damaged. Tried rebuilding the boot sector but no luck. Tried undeleting it and again the filesystem was damaged.

Do you suggest I go through this process once more and post my .log file?

EDIT:

I've posted my .log after another attempt.
