Samsung S7 Update Corrupted SD card

#1 Post by ianlinux »

Hi I had an Amplim 64gB micro SD card installed into my Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone. It seems last night an update was done automatically through Samsung rendering my SD card corrrupted. My wife's phone is the same but had no data stored on her card so she's okay.

What can I do?

Here's the report running TestDisk 7.0 through Ubuntu

TestDisk 7.0, Data Recovery Utility, April 2015
Christophe GRENIER <grenier@cgsecurity.org>
http://www.cgsecurity.org

Disk /dev/sdd - 62 GB / 58 GiB - CHS 59664 64 32

Warning: the current number of heads per cylinder is 64
but the correct value may be 128.
You can use the Geometry menu to change this value.
It's something to try if
- some partitions are not found by TestDisk
- or the partition table can not be written because partitions overlaps.

On this testdisk screen, choose to continue to go on the next screen, Analyse, List...

Try PhotoRec to recover your files, see https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf and https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_Step_By_Step
