Hi, I am trying to recover files from a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet.
I connected the tablet to my laptop, I can see the files on it from my laptop, but Photorec does not recognize it as a source to recover files from. I tried it using linux mint and also using Windows 7.
Can you please help me what to do?
Thanks, Ferenc

Re: Photorec does not list my samsung tablet
If you need to recover data from an SD card in your Galaxy Tab, put the SD card in an USB card reader. It will be easier.
To recover data from the internal memory, you need to enable the USB mass storage mode aka MSC.

Thanks, but my problem is, that I don't know how to enable mass storage mode. I tried to find information on the internet, I turned on developer option, I enabled debugging, but my tablet still says, that it is connected as a media device and the only option I have is to choose between MTP and PTP mode. As I understand, none of these allow data recovery. I could not find an option in the Android settings to change the connection to mass storage device from MTP. In Windows, I can see the tablet file system, but there is no drive letter assigned to the tablet, and PhotoRec does not recognize it as a device.
