SSD just corrupted on shutdown now will not boot. Need help.

#1 Post by Smorgus »

So I have no idea what I am doing and I might have messed some stuff up, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to follow the guide and hit write on the partition and rebooted but it never would boot.

I think I was able to recover everything with photorec. But now I want to be able to boot it again without having to re-install Windows 7 again!

Please help!

So here is what I have.

Does anyone know what I should do so that I can get this to boot again back into Windows 7?

Thank you all so much and thank you for this program!

Run TestDisk, Advanced, select the partition corresponding to E:, Boot, RebuildBS, List. If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit
After a reboot, run "cmd" (right click run as administrator) and "chkdsk /f e:"
What are the results ?

Run "cmd" (right click run as administrator) and "chkdsk /f d:" (replace d: by the correct drive letter).
If it doesn't work, use PhotoRec on this partition, use [Whole] instead of [Free] after selecting this partition.

Well damn, I guess it is damaged beyond repair. Chkdsk said it could not repair and aborted.

Thank you for the amazing program and the help!

I had to reformat it.

Thanks again!
