reformat fat32 to NTFS and lost data

#1 Post by zhanezeng »

This is for a USB drive: when I format the drive from fat32 to NTFS, I forgot to backup the data.
I was following the instruction in the following link.
https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Data_Re ... _partition

After the "List" step, the program quite unexpectedly without any error prompt.
Wondering if somebody has similar experience, and could give me a hand?

Do you have the same problem with latest 7.1-WIP ?

If the problem remains, try PhotoRec, enable the expert mode in Options, start a recovery using Search, use a blocksize of 512, use the default options otherwise.
Good luck
