Mac Bootcamp: unallocated space after shrinking Windows partition

#1 Post by jadster »

Hi there,

Total noob to Testdisk. I seem to be sitting on around 50GB unallocated space on my 1TB drive after shrinking the Windows partition via Windows 8's own system utility by 50GB. I was hoping I could increase Mac OS partition size, but it seems the 50GB I removed from the Windows partition are now not available in Mac Disk Utility.

Can TestDisk help me out in this endeavor? I'd like to salvage the lost 50GB and re-add them to my Mac partition!

Any help greatly appreciated while I try to fumble through.

You may have to move the NTFS partition. TestDisk will not help but you can use gparted http://gparted.org/ instead.
