recover 4tb windows partition

#1 Post by esc69 »

The drive im trying to recover has the windows 10 operating system.
I accidentally used the wrong commands while trying to fix some errors in my 4tb windows 10 bootsector.
I am running test disk to recover the drive because i chose clean on the wrong selected drive in diskpart.
When i ran test disk the disk to analyze all the other drives, they where defaulted to intel/pc partition. The one im trying to recover was automatically defaulted to efi/gpt.
I continued to analyze with the default setting following your step by step guide. I am still in the process of scanning and have taken a screen shot of the current progress.

If anyone can have a look and give me some advice that would be good.

The key combination "Alt Print" should work with Windows 10 as well.
It only copies the active window.
This way you don't have to post huge pictures of your computer screen with mainly blackened areas.
Save the result as "*.png"-file. The png-format is better suited for screenshots of shells like the one you posted.

Read the manual

thanks for reply. i have had a thorough read of the manual.
i complete another test disk scan at the default analyze setting. i have attached the log.
if a trained eye can have a look at it and recommend any thing for me to do that would be good.

Your log file suggests a broken partition table but some partitions were found.
Browse through the found partitions and list the files inside with the "p"-key to see if those partitions contain files that you expect.
