USB Thumb drive not detected for recovery

#1 Post by elephant44 »

Hi,
I`ve used Testdisk before and it`s been brilliant, however I have a problem now that it won`t detect a USB drive that is connected.

Previous similar posts have solved this using v7-1, but I've tried this already.

The drive I need to access is shown as D: in disk manager.

If any help, the same drive isn`t detected by EaseUS, Macrium, and chkdsk gives the result "cannot open volume for direct access"
Disk properties in disk manager show D|: as having 0 capacity and space

Really hope someone is able to help?

The USB controller may be damaged. To deal with such electronic/hardware problem, you need to contact a data recovery company.
