Testing exFAT is still under progress.
Partition is basic and was formatted using windows explorer.
TestDisk listed it as EFI GPT.
I changed it to Intel and made a diagnose.
Everything worked fine.
Also to copy data worked like a charme.
Now I'm struggling around about converting it to GPT.
Even if my disk is converted to GPT it's still listed as basic in windows disk management console.
My test will take until tomorrow.
All situations about GPT will be tested also.

Everything is tested now.
In my tests windows didn't actualize the disk management console.
So my disk was GPT but it was still displayed as basic.
To exclude anything wrong, would it be possible to upload another screen from your disk management console?
Please right click in the left quadrat.
I'd need this info.
If there is a description to convert it back to MBR, then it will be already a GPT disk.
Further information about recovery will follow.

The "convert mbr disk" is not available.
Is it appropriate to remove the disk volume?

It's the same like in my test.
Your disk is still displayed as básico but right click on it says;
"Convertir es disco MBR".
It easily means that your disk is already a GPT and windows didn't actualize it.
But you shouldn't convert it back because your disk size is 4 TB and needs to be a GPT disk.
Also, TestDisk doesn't handle exFAT boot sector recovery.
So don't make a boot sector recovery, because you'd crash your partition.
Now I'm guessing around your problem why you can't copy files?
Would it be possible to go to the menu Advanced?
Highlight Type, MSData should be predefined, or check it and hit enter.
Check exFAT and press enter to leave the menu.
Check List and display your files.
Check a folder and use the right arrow key to enter it.
Does testdisk display your files?
Have another try to copy a folder to your disk.
Also another screen would be appreciated from Advanced/Boot.
If your boot sector is ok and you have trouble to copy data, would probably indicate that your files system is damaged or your created partition doesn't fit.
TestDisk found three MSData partitions.

Did you have a try to list files from all three partitions?
If you'd be able to list file from another partition, please have a try to copy some data.
Please let me know.

Hi fiona, the first thing i want is to recover fully all that was on the disc (folder structure, file names, etc.). If can't do this, I would at least recover the files.

Following your instructions here is the screen of the advanced options <type>
advanced optios -type-.jpg

Its MS DATA, and Exfat select.

In the next check is where my greatest doubts, because testdisk don't displays all files and folders on the disk was before the problem, just show me some files and folders. Also in some subfolders appears content with rare signs .

I've tried re-retrieve files and do not recover files only recover some folders with rare names.

This is the screen of advanced options <boot>

boot sectors appear to be ok, I don't think my files are damaged because before using testdisk to try to recover my hdd I used another program called diskdigger and i can see the files but dont have any order.

the first time that i use testdisk, only appeared a single partition MS DATA, but when I got back nothing I tried again and it appeared 2 partitions, i try again and the end the 3 partitions appeared. The three partitions show exactly the same content and when i try to recover my files its exactly the same problem.

I hope you can solve my problem, infinitely grateful to you fiona.
