Hello,
I am working on a 2Tb disk drive that was having Ubuntu installed and the data partition with about 250 Gb of data on a 1.5Tb partion, was overwritten by Ext4 400Gb partition, leaving the rest of the old NTFS partition as unallocated.auto clicker
I have used photorec to get most of the NTFS files back however I am wondering what is the best way to recover any data in the unallocated area? Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks!
Overwritten NTFS partition

Re: Overwritten NTFS partition
You should select the drive instead of the newly created partition inside the drive when runnning Photorec.
There is a way to limit the Photorec activitiy, it's either a program setting or you have to modify the parameter file to limit the search range to approximately the first 1,5TB of 2TB.
