Undo "write partition table"

#1 Post by josoares »

Hi. I was trying to recover some stuff that I shift+del on windows and screwed up. I saw a post with what I think was the same subject of mine from 2015 but coudn't understand it very well... I wanted to try and ask here if anyone knew a way to recover my HDD.

I was supposed to just use advanced, undelete.
but went with analyse, write partition table instead

some information
I haven't created a log file.
It's a DAS HDD storage of 2TB
Genuinely activated Windows 10 last update (using another storage)
windows says that the HDD is NTSF but TestDisk says it's FAT

tried running linux to see if I could list my files there but coudn't

screenshot of windows https://prnt.sc/rrwa4l
screenshot of testdisk https://prnt.sc/rrwauj

Please help me

Both TestDisk and Windows say the partition is using an NTFS filesystem but is named FAT.
If you don't like the parititon table, run TestDisk, Analyse, QUick Search, Deeper Search and use the arrow keys to select which partition to recover.
Set it to P(rimary) and choose Write and confirm on the next page.
