It is a physical problem. You should contact a data recovery company.

Thanks for your response.
I was able to list the files and then I was unable to list them again.

What would be the best approach with testdisk to reset the drive or make it usable again?

I don't know which partition type to select under the list partition type for this drive.

[edit]Is there a way to find out which partition type would fit the drive plugged in with testdisk?[/edit]
