A Windows Update cause a good portion of my drive to go missing. In a panic I found PhotoRec and TestDisk. I admit I wasn't looking fully at the documentation and decided that PhotoRec was the way to go for recovery only seeing TestDisk as recovering the boot sector. It's been running for 2 day and is mostly completed and now noticing that TestDisk could have gotten me my file names which it a huge help. It was a media server so there are thousands of videos that with out a name I may never get back the right way. Is it possible to undo the changes from PhotoRec and run TestDisk instead?
I don't see much logging going on so my guess is no but it is worth asking with the time it will save me.

Re: Undo Photorec changes
PhotoRec is not changing anything unless you decide to write files to the drive you are recovering from.Zexon83 wrote: 30 Dec 2020, 01:49 Is it possible to undo the changes from PhotoRec and run TestDisk instead?
