Avoid using illegal charakters for output folders (and files)
I used photorec on Linux and recovered data to an NTFS partition. photorec included | in most folder names, which is an illegal charakter - not in NTFS, but for windows. One cannot browse the folders. I have to boot a linux again and rename all those fodlers. This should not be necessary, so please avoid this in future version. Thank you.

There is no "|"-symbol in Photorec folder names.
In order to have a possible bug being corrected you would need to provide a more extensive bug documentation than just pretending that Photorec did something wrong.

I am sorry. I just noticed that I mixed up output folders and this is caused by a different tool. Just delete this threat, photorec was not the cause. Sorry.
