[SOLVED] webp files recovering with Photorec

#1 Post by sagittarius »

First I'd like to thank the devs for the very good work.

I have sucessfully recovered numerous files from various formats and generally it works great under Linux my main OS.
I can't find a way to filter files to recover by Photorec with the extension .webp
It seems the webp format is well recognized by Photorec but I couldn't find the filter for it.

Any advise welcome.

For info:
$ photorec -v

You have to select the "riff" option!

I agree that this is not self-explaining.

Take the zip family as an example.

In the past I assume the zip family just had one member - zip archives!
When Microsoft came out with the new office formats like docx and xlsx p.e. they used the zip format as well.
An xlsx file is technically just a zip file that contains certain files.

If you had file options instead of file families and you deselected docx you would automatically deselect xlsx and zip as well.
