Restoring partition table from Macrium backup

#1 Post by knowhatamine »

Hey everybody, I hope you can help me.

I accidentally nuked the partition table of an NVME drive which contains all my databases, because as so often before I confused the disk with another of my 4 2TB disks. :(

5 months since last backup. This backup is a Macrium backup which can be restored.

So my idea was this:

1. Write 2TB raw image of disk in its current state.
2. Restore Macrium image to that disk
3. Copy partition table from restored disk (which is just the current one rolled back 5 months) to the raw image.

Is that possible at all? Or am I going about it the wrong way?
