Help Please

#1 Post by CyberMonkey »

I have a USB external drive. Today it could not be mounted on my Mac OS X system and on Windows 7 it says it "needs to be formatted" to be used.
I downloaded testDisk and was able to make an image of the contents of the drive, but it's a .dd file format. I downloaded an app for Mac called "The Unarchiver" that stated it opens .dd files.....but it does not. What should I use to be able to access the .dd file that TestDisk created?

That image is only intended to work using TestDisk.
A description would be here;

Ok thanks.
If the .dd file is only to be intended to work with TestDisk, that just means I will have to copy the files/folders using that copy function in TestDisk.

Yes, it's a good idea to copy/backup data if they are listed!
