Recovered files appear & disappear

#1 Post by Triplight »

Hi,
I'm using photorec 6.13, trying to recover TIF (NEF) files on Mac OS X 10.6 from a 16 GB FAT SD card. Photorec claims nothing recovered, but if I open the recup_dir during the recovery I can see various NEF files being created and deleted (live filesystem view). I've made sure TIF is selected in the File Opts, and I tried enabling the "Keep Corrupt Files" option, but in the end I get nothing, no files recovered, directory is empty. Commercial file recovery products (ransomware) can see over 1000 NEF files on that SD card. So what's up?

Can you try Photorec 6.14-WIP ? Do you have the same problem ?
If it's the case, in Options, set paranoid to No and try again. Please let me know of the results.

Yeah, I realized that 6.14 addressed my issue just after I posted this. Thanks, it made a perfect recovery of NEF files with no other adjustments needed.
