Accidentally formatted to HFS on a NTFS USB external disk

I have a 1 TB USB external hard drive. It was formatted in NTFS and used to store files (about 230 GB on it), non-bootable. Yesterday, I accidentally formatted it to HFS while trying to free 10 GB and install a Mountain Lion bootable disk bought/downloaded from APP Store. I came to this forum while searching on the net and it seems someone had similar experience and was able to recover the lost NTFS partition with helps from here. I tried the test disk and came to this screen

Run TestDisk, Advanced, select the actual HFS partition, use type to switch it to NTFS, choose Boot.
If available, choose BackupBS and confirm, otherwise try RebuildBS, List, Write and confirm if you can see your files.

If both failed, run TestDisk, Analyse, Quick Search, Deeper Search, switch the NTFS partition to P(rimary), on next screen, choose Write, confirm, Quit.

Post the new log if you have problems.

Hi, cgrienier,

Thank you for replying my call for help. I tried to follow your suggestion, but didn't get the options/commands as you listed when I run testDisk. Here is some screen shots.

First, I tried testDisk/Advanced, selected the HFS, then type > HFS, type > NFTS, but after that, I didn't get the option of "boot". If I chose EFI instead, I did get an option of "boot"/RebuildBS, but after selecting "RebuildBS", no List/Write etc.

I then tried testDisk/Analysis/Quick Search/Deep Search, the deep search found two MS Data partition and a bunch of HFS partition with a "D". Again, I didn't see the option of "switching NTFS to P(rimary".

I am sure that I must have missed a step or two, but couldn't figure out where. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
