Where to store recovered data?
I am working in Linux and analysing a 1Tb HD with contains some large deleted files. PhotoRec seems to find them but I have not enough space on the system PhotoRec runs on. Is it possible to store the undeleted files to an external USB-Drive?

I have version 6.14 and I can't find option to change destination drive? Amy help would be appreciated. I want to save to external hard drive.
Thanks

Can't select external disk drive?
I am using version 6.14 and I can't find any option to switch destination folder to an external hard drive, and my C drive is very limited in available space. Is it possible to save recovered files to an external hard drive, and if so how?
Thank you in advance.

When asked for the destination, use the left arrow key until you get a list with all your drives.

Thanks CG,
I was able to locate my external hard drive and back up my data, but in the process my external hard drive crashed and would not boot. I have been able to locate two partitions on the hard drive after deep search, but they show up as structure: bad. and i cant seem to find a way to rebuild structure and it cant find backup copy. Both drives were listed as deleted originally i switched the nfts to primary bootable ant the fat16 to logical. I am not sure if that is correct. i am not sure if any of this makes sense. sorry.

If with this settings you have the "Structure Ok" message, feel free to write this partition table on next screen.

Re: Where to store recovered data?
If you press the left arrow key several times, PhotoRec should list all your drives.
Re: Where to store recovered data?
I want to save my recovered files on an external drive as well, but how can i tell what the name of the external harddrive is? It's name is "My Book" but i can't find that anywhere. I tried pressing the left arrow key several times and it does narrow it down, but i still can't tell which is which. Help?
