Deleted Partition

#1 Post by mcginley50 »

Hi, I was recently trying to recover an external hard drive and while doing so deleted the boot partition on my own drive. Don't ask me how I did it but I am relatively new to this. I've downloaded testdisk and have the original hard drive connected to my Laptop via USB and want to know how I can make this drive bootable again. I ran a deep scan and get the following results -

TestDisk 6.14-WIP, Data Recovery Utility, September 2012
Christophe GRENIER <grenier@cgsecurity.org>
http://www.cgsecurity.org

Disk /dev/sdb - 500 GB / 465 GiB - CHS 60801 255 63
Partition Start End Size in sectors
D HPFS - NTFS 0 1 1 60799 254 63 976751937
D HPFS - NTFS 0 32 33 12 223 19 204800 [System Reserved]
>D HPFS - NTFS 12 223 20 60801 47 46 976564224

Structure: Ok. Use Up/Down Arrow keys to select partition.
Use Left/Right Arrow keys to CHANGE partition characteristics:
*=Primary bootable P=Primary L=Logical E=Extended D=Deleted
Keys A: add partition, L: load backup, T: change type, P: list files,
Enter: to continue
NTFS, blocksize=4096, 500 GB / 465 GiB

I am able to list all files on the highlighted drive but how do I make this drive bootable again? Any help is greatly appreciated. :D Let me know if I need to provide any additional information.
