Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 lost partition and analysis issue

#1 Post by Manu404 »

Hi,

I'm currently having a problems with a crash during the installation of windows 8, and as a morron, no backup done  .
I just got the system reserved partition but my main big partition is unmountable in windows 7 BUT it's browsable in windows XP. (i've recover 50% of my data)
The problem is that i don't have enough free storage on my other disks to backup the rest of the data i would like to preserve. Here's the two partition and the error message :

Code: Select all

Bad relative sector.
Space conflict between the following two partitions
 1 * HPFS - NTFS 0 32 33 13 44 63 209632 [Réservé au système]
 2 P HPFS - NTFS 12 223 20 121601 224 63 1953327392
The analysis directly go to 100% and than stop responding to keyboard inputs without crashing.

Here's the datasheet of the harddrive at page 10 table 1 : http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/supp ... 29369b.pdf

Do you have any idea about a fix for that ?

I've solve the issue by delete the system reserved volume.
As i don't need this anymore, this is solving the overlap bug. Just done a partition check and now everything work fine :)

Anyway, thank's for this super tool.

Thanks for your reply!
Your Réservé au système-partition was a little bit too big !
It's your boot partition.
Actually has no drive letter, so that user can't modify it.In your disk managemanet console, It's also possible to resize partition and make this partition a bit smaller.
But if your already solved your problems, I'll set your topic as solved.
