is there any hope left?

#1 Post by dn555 »

my drobo's file system was corrupted and chkdsk was unable to repair. i was able to recover most of the data using some recovery software, but there was still a few items left i couldn't get to.

i stumbled upon testdisk and the step by step guide and ended up writing a new partition structure :? . this resulted in the drobo entering a nonstop reboot cycle, removing the drives is the only way the drobo starts up correctly so the device itself is fine, but with drives inserted it goes back to rebooting itself continuously.

i dont suppose anyone here has done something this stupid before?

contacted drobo support and was able to put the device into read only mode which was able to bypass the reboot loop. drobo boots up fine and the data still seems to be present. just going to try and recover it again
