Quick Question: TestDisk Transfer Rate

#1 Post by gnailuj »

Hey,

Just want to say that TestDisk is truly a lifesaver, and a program certainly second to none. It was able to access and recognize my failed external hard drive when other programs couldn't.

Anyways, right now TestDisk is copying files from my failed WD 1TB External, to a, brand new WD 1 TB External Harddrive. So far, it has been around 50 hours and it has copied about 25 gigs worth of data over.

I just wanted to know if this speed is normal or unusual? I have no problem waiting days/weeks to recover my data :D

Thanks again!

It looks very slow in your case... Usually a good way to speedup the operation is to connect the disk via SATA instead of USB. Note that some external WD disks are USB only.
