Recover a downloaded .dd file. Pls respond asap

#1 Post by TomboyishTakumii »

I'm so sorry if there is any thread about this problem, but I need to finish my project in this week =)
I am given a .dd file ( let's call it project.dd) on the internet, and had to use photorec to recover it and submit the stuffs
If I put photorec in C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\testdisk-6.14
and the project.dd file in C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Project
what should I do to make photorec open project.dd?
There is a tutorial saying I can use the Command Prompt to open both photorec and project.dd, and then it will display a "Select a media" and the "Disk project.dd - xxx Mb/ xxx Mb"
How can I actually do that
Thanks in advance

Two possibilities:
- in command line, go in testdisk-6.14 directory and run photorec "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Project\project.dd"
- select the project.dd file, right-click, open with, select photorec
