Hello!

Thank you for developing and supporting such great software that I have been using on a few raw drives.

I am trying to recover a raw partition on this drive 3Tb drive: 3000 GB / 2794 GiB - ST3000DM 003-1CD16N

I can browse my files fine from TestDisk but I am not able to access the drive in WIndows Explorer. I selected EFI GPT when scanning for partitions and selected write and then rebooted but there is no improvement.

Did I missing something?

If the partition cannot be re-written, is it possible to create a new partition on that drive and use the P List Files option to copy files and paste them on the new partition?

Assuming you only have one partition on your drive following your idea would overwrite the existing data.

Thanks for your reply. Do the logs indicate that it is not possible to re-write the existing partition at all?

If I can recover/re-write the existing partion table so I can browse it from Windows Explorer, I will not need to create a new partition but I don't know if that's possible because I can't figure out what the logs say.

There is an error message but I don't understand it because offset+size is within the size limits of the drive.

NTFS part_offset=8388608, part_size=3000579915776, sector_size=512
NTFS partition cannot be added (part_offset<part_size).
