Hello,
i have 1tb ssd usb drive which was a ntfs drive, under ubuntu 20.04 i formated this drive to ext4.
Is it possible to revert this / recover the data?

the drive was not mounted under linux or written on after.

As I don't know the extent of overwriting when formatting a partition with ext4 you will have to try that out. Please read:
