TestDisk disk image filled up my on Linux hard drive

Microsoft's most recent update damaged my MBR and RDC files. Windows would not boot. I had Unbuntu dual boot installed. I had a VMWare Virtual Machine on the Windows system.

I booted into Linux Ubuntu and ran "TestDisk".

TestDisk took an image of the partition(s). It filled up (consumed all) the Linux home drive. I couldn't even type a character into a text document and save it.

When I rebooted Linux, it doesn't even have enough space to show the desktop. Linux is unusable.

*** How do I find the file that ate ***ALL*** my disk space ?

*** How do I delete that file so Linux will run again ?

*** How do I then recover my Windows MBR ?

You missed to select a sufficiently large location for saving.

I don't know. I searched google for "treesize linux alternatives".

Run a live linux from a USB stick or CD/DVD such as GParted, Knoppix etc.

Use either Testdisk or the repair function of your operating system installation media.
