Is it advisable to backup first image of SD cards before using?

So my two sd cards were corrupted. I planning to buy again but thinking to backup first data image.
Is that a great idea?
I'm thinking that sd cards that couldn't formatted will not write any file onto it.
So will I able to overwrite the corrupted file system data with the image backup which is *.dd?
I hope someone answer me.
Thank you!

It is even a terrific idea!

If your SD card is broken and refuses write operations it doesn't matter if you format, write back a previously generated image or write a regular file on it.

For what purpose, please?
By the way, I deleted that useless [HELP] tag in your postings because this forum is for help purposes and adding that kind of stuff might encourage the next one to do the same!

In your first post you are talking about duplicating the card.
This is fine to have a backup before the card deteriorates further.
You spoke about rewriting a created image to your card - probably hoping it would work again.
This idea won't bring your card back to life nor will you gain any additional information out of it.
Anyway, the term "were corrupted" in your first posting is a bad description because it is not specific enough.

Oopps.... sorry for my wrong sentences... Can't elaborate clearly...
For example, I have brand new sd card and created image.dd using Testdisk Image creation.
After a year, my sd card got corrupted, e.g. windows unable to format,
Now, can I use the image.dd to bring back the brand new working state of my sd card?
I hope you understand that example.

If Windows is unable to format your card, your card is broken, not "corrupted".

i believe my sd cards are not broken because I can still access the drive. If said " broken", SD cards couldn't access, view or not detected by computer.
That's on my mind. (correct me if I'm wrong)
